We work closely with the Parish Church of St Michael’s Garston. We have recently been awarded our School/Parish Partnership certificate by the retiring Bishop of Warrington, Rt Rev David Jennings. The school and parish link wherever possible to celebrate Christian festivals and each act as venue for the other at appropriate times. A “Messy Church” is held in school at regular intervals and has to date been extremely well attended by children and families from school and other attached community groups. Classes often visit the church for lessons and the whole school visits church regularly for Harvest, Christmas, Easter and the leaver’s service. Our link with St Michaels is extremely valuable to our school community and we strive to strengthen it even more.
It has been a tradition in the past years to prepare Year 6 Junior children for Confirmation. The Confirmation Service is held in the early summer. We recently played host to the Bishop of Warrington who conducted communion for children and parents. It is hoped to hold more services in school in the future. Mrs Clarke works in partnership with church to prepare children for confirmation in the Spring term.
